Perhaps! Funny thing is, i?m predominantly a D&B head these days and know practically everything on that front.
The tune only ever got rinsed alongside Happy Hardcore tunes around 1995/96. I was a massive Dream FM fan and only ever heard it on the station and at their raves. Back then a lot of HH had Amens/Breakbeat influence so although it doesn?t have a bangin 4/4 beat I still classify it as Breakbeat/Happy hardcore because of its uplifting vocals and old skool hardcore synth stabs. It just didn?t sit right with the D&B of the period and was never dropped in that context. It?s one of those grey area tunes. Funny thing is I?ll probably get told to find an Old Skool/Happy Hardcore forum if asking on a D&B forum lol

it sits in perfectly with all the artcore/intelligent dnb stuff from that era, not sure what you mean; it's been heavily sped up in that mix though!

I can see why you are connecting the tune with what you illustrated. However, the tune stylistically has its roots more in hardcore. It?s an odd one for sure. Its not dissimilar to some 93 era Hardcore Jungle tracks which was a precursor to Happy Hardcore. It just doesn?t have a D&B/Jungle vibe. It?s too happy 😋
Back then in 95/96 it was considered as Breakbeat Happy Hardcore which was a natural progression from Breakbeat Hardcore/Old Skool Hardcore.

I can definitely see why you're connecting it with that too, with it being so sped up and all!
but doesn't seem breakbeaty or happy enough to fit in with the breakbeat hardcore we were listening to in 95/96.
like this stuff
I still say your best bet is trying more of those artcore/intelligent dnb mixes from 95/6 to see if you can find it, like the mix of it I posted before, might have been why you've been drawing a blank.

Cheers anyway. Hopefully someone will know...

It might not help a whole lot, but I'm also pretty confident that the sample they used is by
Trio Bulgares https://youtu.be/J8H1OJzecsY?t=364 I'm not sure which track though.
As I say may not help, but might come in handy for the hunt.

Much appreciated. Seems like you are definitely barking up the right tree...
Guess im going to have to start listening to more of this Bulgarian Trio to pinpoint which piece of music the vocal is potentially from lol
I was surprised to realise that the trio collaborated with Kate Bush!
