the beauty of the hardcore scene at the moment is the rising dedication of many artists who are striving to do new and different things. i think the new wave of happy hardcore will be the unity between all the different styles. You've got people making oldskool influenced tracks, hard housey tracks, the classic 4/4 96-98 sound as well as a trancey sound. This gives dj's many more options to make some really interesting and diverse sets and i love it!

peace,
barrett

Oldschool and 4/4 sound of 96-98!!! I can listen to the old classics over and over again and never get bored...
But ya some of the newer sounds are great too, stuff with some trance influence can be really good, but if it gets too trancey well it just makes my stomach turn to hear our wonderful happycore ruined that way.
Most of the stuff i have heard that is sorta hard house influences is complete garbage.
Pains me to see great artists bastardizing happycore so it sounds more like some of the more trendy electronic genres.

I think it should sound like the "CLASSIC HAPPY HARDCORE". Oldskool too, but not Trancey or Hard Housey... those genres suck.

definitely oldskool. happy hardcore works best when it sticks away from excessive cheese like a lot of the newer stuff>>>>>angels (ewwww). also happy breaks r pretty cool. Happy hardcore needs to break off from the image of the Khandi scene and move more into the hardcore/happy gabba scene to survive.
