I love Vinyl. I always use vinyl. I just like the feel and the sound better. However, I've had to play cds at the last party I played because all my records got warped. Over $300 in happy hardcore records all ruined!
My friend was helping me break down my gear after a college party, and he didn't know that I didn't have an LP case. He thought the box of wires, power cords etc. was the records, and the bag of records was the wires power cords etc. I still don't understand how a person can make that mistake. But he said he carried it all out together so...
So he put my record "bag" behind the drivers seat in my car on the side of the speakers, so I didn't even see it. We went out to Denny's and then an after party. I got home around 12 noon, and was too tired to unload the car, so I went to sleep. I came out later that night, unloaded my gear and to my surprise, *OH MY GOD MY RECORDS*
I rushed in the studio and started playing them. None of them sounded right and most were skipping. Five still "playable" but all blemished, and most runined. It is really a great tragedy. I cried. I told my friend but I didn't yell at him because he said he didn't know.
But now, I'm screwed because I don't have $300 for new records. Not to mention some of them I can't ever get again due to white lables and limited press.

When it comes to hardcore I buy mainly vinyl, as well as mix CD's for the car.

I'd buy hardcore singles if they were available at a reasonable price (ie a bit over regular, considering they'd probably be imports), but I also buy mix CD's if I know they're decent.

anything as long as its hardcore! i buy tracks i love on vinyl, even though i avnt got, an wont b gettin decks for a fair ole while i love the feel, the size and supporting the people who make the music. i buy cd's if i like the choons an i can afford it (latest was Masters of Hardcore an certainly dont regret gettin that) and i buy tape packs if i went t the rave or their from anytime before july 2002. i keep a few months inbetween each pack date if its similar dj's cuz choons do git played for a while an buyin 2 pack from the same month theyd probly sound mostly the same.
i cant get enuff of that wonderful hardcore stuff, i only wish i had a well paying job so i cud at least try.

I have got cd decks and although I love listening to Hixxy and the rest, its a complete pain in the ass to try and mix when 1) the dj is already mixing and 2) There is an Mc all over it, I want more unmixed so ppl won't call me a cheater!! I bought the stuff for Mixing and theatre and it has up to +12 to -12 but without the right cd's I can't play my favorite music!! Someone help me!!
I am going to add a deck to the set up but that still won't be a total solution
Your into the sound of Rebellion
