Coloursfest 2004
Saturday 5th June
Colours are delighted to announce further details of Coloursfest 2004 back at Braehead
Arena & Waterfront, Braehead, Glasgow
As we speak finishing touches are being put in place with lineups being
tweaked and more names being confirmed on a minute to minute basis.
Main Arena- Colours meets Gatecrasher GCX10. www.gatecrasher.com
Coloursfest flagship arena will this year feature collaboration with the
monster of UK clubbing Gatecrasher who are celebrating their 10th
anniversary this year. This arena will feature a spectacular lineup, which
you would expect from such a momentous partnership.
Arena 2- Soma Sessions. www.somarecords.com
Making their debut at this years Coloursfest are Glasgow's Soma Quality
Recordings with the Soma Sessions arena. Soma have regularly organised
parties in Glasgow and all around the world, taking in clubbing capitals
such as London, Miami, Paris, Barcelona and Ibiza. Synonymous with the
underground house and techno scene, this sound-searching record label has
garnered a reputation for releasing electronic music with an ethos of
quality without compromise. They are internationally recognised and the Soma
brand is known for cutting edge productions, international DJs,
accomplished recording artists and respected collaborators. During the last
decade Soma have exemplified the DIY-attitude of the British dance industry,
confirming their status as one of a handful of labels that truly shape their
genre. Soma Sessions will take you on a journey with a pulse-taking
collection of upfront, up-beat body music.
Arena 3- Hed Kandi. www.hedkandi.com
The UKs spangliest, sexiest, funkiest club brand also make's it's
Coloursfest debut in 2004 taking over an entire arena to work their magic on
you. Expect groovelicious dance, driving disco and funky house by the
bucket load delivered by a glittering lineup of Hed Kandi dance
confectioners. This arena will receive the usual Hed Kandi production
treatment with drapes, glitter balls, mobiles, banners and props all
arriving north in their big sequinned disco bus. Be warned! Once you enter a
Hed Kandi party, dancing is the only option!
Arena 4- Back to the Future. www.oldskooluk.com
After an extremely successful year with sell-out events all across Scotland,
Back to the Future arrives at Coloursfest as the newest kid on the block.
Citing their events as 'a new wave of old skool' Back to the Future creates
a fusion of the very best old skool DJs and live acts with a distinct
element of new wave hi-nrg dance music carefully crafted to give a uniquely
fresh approach to this genre. As you would expect these guys want to blow
the roof off the place and further cement their ever-growing stature on the
Scottish scene. Tread carefully this arena will rock to the dance music
equivalent of nitro glycerine!
Outdoor Stage – Beat 106
You can count on Colours and Beat 106 Radio Station in bringing you a cracking outdoor stage. Not only can you find all the Beat 106 resident DJs here, but also making an appearance is the one and only legend that is, Mr Danny Rampling. Expect everything from house to hard dance here as the day and night progress as the outdoor stage provides the finishing touches to a fantastic festival.
