Why are there so many singles in the hardcore stream? Can they be removed so we just get mixes? Its really annoying to listen to the stream right now, waiting for the next mix to play while listening to mostly mediocre singles.

I don't understand you guys' logic.
The mixes aren't live, except for a few times a week, most of the time they are pre-recorded.
It is my understanding that the digitally imported stations play tracks from a playlist, it just so happens that some of the tracks are the mixes, and some of the tracks are the singles. It would not be difficult to simply remove the singles from the playlist, thus leaving only mixes.

We play them to break the sets up a little... do people really not like them?

I think its a good idea to have the sets separated by singles.
There isn't that many singles played between sets anyway. its not like your waiting half an hour to an hour between sets.

I guess my point of view is that hardcore records are meant to be mixed. Also I dj, so I'm more interested in hearing what the dj plays and how he plays the records, rather than just hearing the tunes by themselves.
I see where you would want to break the sets up though. I think hearing singles would definitely be more interesting if they were newer, maybe even unreleased records. I don't know how possible that would be, but that would be really cool. I could actually look forward to hearing the singles.
Rather than just throwing some random singles in the playlists, you could take advantage of it. Maybe throw in some tracks by up and coming producers that haven't worked with any labels yet. You could have a whole contest out of it. Whatever you want to do.
Bottom line for me, the singles are a drag.

Well I never thought I'd say it, but in this instance I actually agree with Daveo . I often listen to singles, and enjoy them on the radio station too. Theres hardly loads and loads of them.

I also agree with Daveo i think the way HHC radio is structured is brilliant and that is the reason that i listen to it everyday. I understand what chef is saying but i just do like it more the way it is
