Silver-perhaps you could include a top 10 tunes list in peoples profile to stop the never-ending topics of "Top 10 HHC Anthems"? I included this elsewhere but think you'll lock that topic from this very reason!

my suggestion a while back to stop threads like this, and mp3 requests, was to have sticky threads in place so that they just stay at the top of the page and no other ones get started

I thought of that but then I would have like 10-20 sticky topics... so I think it easier to delete or stop them when they happen.

or create a page before you enter the forums saying "you agree to refrain from posting one of the following topics: best hardcore tune ever and posting mp3 requests"
the ways you could tackle this problem are endless
and why would you have 20 sticky threads silver? make it so that only you can create them and you'll only have the 2 stickys

Because once you start with one sticky thread another common topics start to appear that you need to also make sticky... etc... etc... it's a loop

doesn't every newbie come onto this board wanting to rant and rave (hehe) about the tracks they like? it doesn't seem fair that everyone's had their say already and nobody joining up now gets the same opportunity.
i agree with djmouse on the sticky threads idea - u don't have to do it with every popular topic, but with something as fundamental as fave tracks/artists i think it's justified.
just my $0.02 worth ...

you don't *have* to do it with sticky posts in palces like this, why not have a kind of memorial forum, which only ure self (silver) can post in. Then if anyone brings it up, point them at it, sharpish ;)
And yeah I know it's annoying, but I can understand how a lot of people do things like this - they are just trying to get a feel for the board, what styles ure into and so on, just kinda gauge the reaction :) It's not my way, my way is to watch in the shadows for a few weeks and see what people are like, *then* come in :D

*nods* agreed
where there coming from is understandable...
and you just have to put up with a certain amount of it.. it's just the nature of the forum... and hey if nothing else it keeps people talking (even if their just b*tchin about newbies starting topics already posted in the past) ;)
the stickytopics idea isn't too bad...
i know where silvers going but i dunno.. get a certain amount of restraint, give yerself a max of like 3 stickytopics.. or 5 or something... dunno
tis difficult
