why do the Yankees call it happy holidays? it's merry Christmas haha
I was wondering that. Minus the 'Yankees' bit. I was just wondering in general why anyone would call it that. It's one holiday; Christmas.
Merry Christmas is supposed to refer to only the Christian holiday Christmas, while Happy Holidays also includes other religious or ethnic holidays during this time, such as Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and whatever other holidays I'm leaving that are of similar nature. So it's a politically correct way as to not offend anyone. But hell even Muslims and Jews here say Merry Christmas during this time. They don't really get offended by it.
Isn't Happy Holidays disrespectful towards those that have to work through Christmas?
