records are a pre-pressed vinyl plastic acetate with a paper core (or something, the paper core is how they used to do it) i'm guessing what oli means is that when the disc is molded, that writing is in the mold.

yeah they write it on the laquer they make the stampers from
not on each individual vinyl heh :)

Most are hand written, some like the Go Mental's are stamped
Some records DFM02 or DFM01 or early XL records have a messages written there.
