Yeah converting people is like a 2nd job! I've just managed after 4 (yes 4) years to get my best mate to admit he likes quite a lot of the HHC I listen to, bear in mind he listens to no dance at all very rarely goes clubbing & loves only guitar based bands.
His exact words were:
"I'd never say I love it but its not hard to listen to, I actually quite like it, I think because you know they havent made it for the money like commercial music so they must be dedicated & you can kinda hear that"

He shoots he scores!

PS-that was after hearing "Til The Day"-well done Nick!

Happy Hardcore in New Zealand is next to non-existent. People view it as kind of under-age event music (that is under 18 years of age), coz thats how it started off in New Zealand back in the ealry 90's. However i have instigated a happy hardcore party (r18) for 21 september playing (breakbeat, gabba, terrorcore, cheesecore) so i cant wait. People wouldnt even know what the new sound of hardcore sounds like and i think they just think its like the old-skool cheesy music. All my friends laugh at me 4 listening to happy hardcore but if they r ever in my car then i always chuck on a happy hardcore tape coz thats what im into and im not going to listen to something else just coz they arent into it, and i will alway try to introduce as many people into happy hardcore as i can. It would be good for some of those internationals going to aussie all time to make the trip across the ditch to New Zealand and show this country the real s**t. I think all its needs is a little bit more exposure and heaps of people will be converted. On the other hand i quite like listening to music that no one else is into.

The hardcore scene in Lexington, KY isn't exactly slamming. But it is starting to get a lot more hype since Chris (Cloudskipper) moved here from L.A. The few kids, djs and promotors that are into HC, don't play around. We're pretty fkin hard to the core, there's just not a massive amount of us. :D I'm ok with that.

Same thing with the Chicago area. There aren't too many of us, but we're all pretty dedicated. Maybe Cloudskipper could stop here once in a while!

The biggest hhc raves in LA are Project Smile so far. Everytime they get bigger and better.
This Saturday is going to be the best one yet. And only $10 too.
