after being into hardcore almost from the start, about three or four years ago I foolishly decided to sell my beloved decks to buy a car I needed for work.
("it's about time you grew up!").
I recently realised that I needed to get it all back for the sake of my sanity and my identity
(a DJ is what I am not what I do)
so I invested in a new set much to the delight of everyone in the neighbourhood, ha ha

but anyway in the meantime I lost touch with the whole hardcore scene, and I'm just getting my bearings again, everything I knew has become oldskool.

can someone give me a brief rundown of the past few years
what happened to jungle?
has the darkside been banished and good prevailed?
does the name happy hardcore encompass more than it did when I last shopped for vinyl?
( I'd never ordered records over the internet before this morning weird! )
has anyone adopted my name, do i need to change it?

cheers in advance
(congrats to the guys who run this site, well impressed)

I can totally understand where you are coming from. I left the scene about 2 1/2 years ago and have been back for a bout 6 months. Something happens and all of a sudden you realize you are missing something.

Jungle: The hard stuff is still in (sorry to say, I favored Jump Up) but there is this new style trying to push its way in, I'd describe it as a swing beat. I love it, its really fresh and hopefully will have a large future. If you are interested in the style the label BeesWax has a track called Woodenbridge CAT # BWA014, and theres another track called Galacticjam on Urban Takeover Cat # URBTAKE30b. Those are just two of many that I can list.

Happy Hardcore: Hard sped up trance tracks are taking over our sweet melodic piano riffs. The vibes still here and I think we are all still together but the music has taken on a whole new meaning. Some like it, most don't like it. Its all a matter of personal opinion.

There are a ton of great music stores on line too, most with sound clips so that you know what you are buying.
