well i've started it...BUT...it's gonna be in cubase format. my general midi sucks, i cant get it to work on my puny soundcard. i'm gonna ask DJ Mouse about it when i next talk to him cos we got the same soundcard, but i'm practically making the whole song again. I've got as far as the break at the intro goes, but how thats gonna be done i dont know, could you give me a little help on what drums are used in it or even get me the break itself nick? Well i've ripped parts from shooting star like the drum and it sounds good so far. I'll keep you posted on my progress, but as for now, it's just an intro. Oh and one more thing, it will be uploaded as a zip (the file and the wav's used) onto a temporary web page when it's done. peace.

If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?

There was so many different mixes made, and I never made any of them at all, so I'd never know which breaks, stabs, piano's etc were used.

My original mix weould have just a straight forward 909 kik hat pattern and a few rolling snares. Piano would be from an M-1, arpeggiator from a WaveStation and the strings and stuff from a TG500.

But I'm sure it's the info from the remixes that you really need. As I said earlier, MIDI files by their very nature have to appeal to all people including those that do cabaret/karaoke circuits. Therefore, any MIDI file created for Shooting Star by me would not have stab patterns and stuff in it, just pianos strings etc.

We recently created a new version of STR to play to potential publishers and thats a totally different mix altogether. I wont post a link here because none of you will like it, guarenteed. However it has been received very well, so as midi files go, thats the sort of info that would be on there.

Cheers bud,

Nick.

Nick-you say none of us would like it, but I really want to hear the other versions of Shooting Star, I especially want to hear that country style version you've mentioned before, is there any sites where you've posted them?

god damn i forgot about that ha ha, im doing the euro version which brisk did. lol totally forgot. i think for the break some eq'd toms and snares would make it sound like it. or maybe i'll rip out a 4-stab pattern for it i dunno.
