There is two ways I do this, one doesn't really involve switching the bass over. Both of these are when both tracks are playing fully so everyone can hear.

1. I do this when I spin hardcore. Have the non cue track fully up at 0 db on the low eq and the cue track on 1/4 of the way up to 0 db on the low eq. This way you can slightly hear the bass coming in and the sound doesn't sound tin- like when playing it. Then when the breakdown hit I put the cue track bass all the way up

2. I do this when I spin trance. Have it the same way was when I spin hardcore but when there is a slight pause on the bassline on the non cue track usually at the end of a 32 bar, IE like a snare roll or a synth playing, right when the bass is about to hit I put the non cue track's bass to 1/4 to 0 db and the cue tracks to 0 db on the bass.

Those are the ways I use and found the most common way I do bass mixing.

Kryptic: You think 32 records could beat up Virus's record collection?

Syphon: Sorry I wasn't paying attention since there was not enough intelligence in the question.

Kryptic: I'll take that as a No.
