Sadly me agrees that the Technics CD decks are shite:( I was very disappointed when I finally got to use one. My old CDJ700's sound much better and are rugged as hell even though they don't have neary the control features of the Technics. I don't really need all those features anyway since I'm more of a mix and blend jockey.
I guess Technics can't be good at everything....their mixer doesn't sound all that good either. Perhaps they should stick to vinyl decks and let Pioneer handle the CD decks (and mixers).

nothing like traditional vinyl for laptops dont go to ebay my one F***ed up after a month or so and it was brand new really P***ed me off coz i cant dj now but for decks ebay is ok for anyting else ebay is brilliant but it is only super tekinik products which cause the fuss go for a mac if you are going to be doing serious dj work as they run much better and have better softwarte for it and it is very user friendly and decks for vinyl techniks but for a cd player i dont have a clue as i dont own one YET try this link to ebay www.ebay.co.uk for UK users or www.ebay.com for USA
