hey guys,
well i am totally split down the middle with this one and when i have no idea what to do i turn to you guys.
im going to make a purchase soon and cant decide between:
1. DVD player & playstation 2 for my car
or.....
2. 2 x Pioneer CDJ-200's with a BEHRINGER DJX700 mixer
do note though these factors:
A. i am gonna do like a 24 hour drive at the end of the year, would be great to have movies for mates in the car, also when im not driving
B. I have never dj'd before, i havent even tried it (i love listning to how songs are mixed and love the styles, also i would love to make fast mixes there was one fast set that sean apollo did a while back on nahm that was incredible) also the DJ eqipment will set me back about $600 AUS more than the Player for the car.
so it would be great to know what you guys think about this, i don't know im really split down the middle on this one!!!

Tough one
But the DVD player n PS2, how many times would you use it/them compared with the DJ set? 24h in a car, yikes that is going to get boring...
Expect people saying not to buy Behringer mixer  .
But you should try to DJ before buying stuff, so that you know if it is really something for you. That's why Im still trying out to see if it is something for me  .
Btw, doesn't PS2 play DVD movies?

yeah thats the whole thing, the ps2 plays the dvd movies, i am getting an in dash 8" motorised monitor then i would play the dvd's through the ps2. Yeah the car trip will get really boring and that would be great for it. About the mixing i would love to have a try at it to see if its for me but i dont know anyone with gear and the ones in the stores are not really set up.
yeah i know about the behringer mixer it just starts getting really expensive if i go for say a pioneer DJM-707.
which one would you lean towards?

its true about the next gen console thing, it would be awesome to have a 360 etc.. in the car for later. but the high definition poses a problem.
im kinda leaning towards the dvd at the moment because to get decent dj equipment would cost about twice as much at this stage..

I thought about getting those when the price drops, by about $2000 =P
I'm going to wait and see how well the 360 does before I buy one, should be an interesting couple of months.
why not buy a gameboy and save your money for equipment?

yeah thats a fair point about the gameboy thing, i could just buy a portable dvd player, allthough they are a lot better built into the car, and i could have it hooked up through my stereo. It would be a car addition.
