Drum and Bass is more abtract than Breakbeat hardcore..
The beats are more simple. In fact, its more simple on a the whole.
But the line is very blurry.

I'd say drum n bass is much more open to variation in style whilst break beat hardcore is quite confined

DnB = more serious
BB Hardcore = fun
DnB = either dark (moody) or "light" (so called "intelligent" DnB)
BB Hardcore = more uplifting and hits the middle ground between dark and light in production (milk?)
But as everybody else has said, its very blurry, and purely an attempt to pigenhole the music.
