Garage Music is ok, the scene itself is shite though.... just my opinion though... can't be doing with all the guns and aggression and stuff going on... get more chilled and laid back about stuff and it'd be cool

Yeah! People say it isn't the music to blame but in a way it is. The artists are too stupid to realise that most of their listeners aren't intelligent enough to establish what should be and shouldn't be done in real life.
As for garage - it's ok I'd listen to it on the radio (where as with say rock I'd turn it off) but I wouldn't buy it or make an effort to find it.

i like alot of 2-step... from the breaksy bassline stuff to the cheesy stuff...
that being said, there seems to be a strange trend here in these posts... and seeing as we've been dealing with the 'alter-ego' think lately, i think it's time we were more aware of this. everyone knows jutt already did the uk garage thread under a different name, and now this (same thread starter as "i've missed you?). seems a bit strange to me. lady envi if you're real i don't mean to offend you in any way so long as you're genuine.
drugs is not the answer... drugs? is the question... yes is the answer

Garage has sOOOOOOOOOO changed over the last 8/10 years. I really didn't like it to start with but it has grown on me. I hate the attitude of violence but given that has removed a lot of bad sh!t from the hardcore scene, I ain't complaining. I like the music but only like some of the people. It is slow and is best when mixed with old school. I get the feeling the UK want's a rap scene and this is how they have found it. I really hate R&B, so in some garage tunes I can hear certain undertones I don't really like. I hate Rewind's unless totally demanded by a crowd NOT an MC,
Also it is full of 'I am hard' attitude which is a little to still at school and think guns and drugs are cool, just for the sake of it.
Let's face it, Gansta attitude ruins a lot of stuff so for me it's not the music I dislike but some of the ppl that surround the scene, but this is true of House, Techno, Trance, jungle, rap and sorry to say it but hardcore. In every scene is a bunch of idiots but that is no reason to stop liking the music. Its them that is wrong not me or you. In the rave and hardcore scene I have found the smallest % of nobs plus it is the best music, so for me that is the scene to be in. I don't mind garage it's okay and a good slow do late on in the night, This all as long as nowone wants to shoot me. Gee, getting hassled and fighting at crappy disco night clubs was bad enough.
Your into the sound of Rebellion

its like most musical styles, u gotta put sum effort into searching for the good stuff. its unfair to say its bad based on so solid. shame the gangsta attitude sucks ass. i wonder if its the same as the way americans feel about aspects of rap

this is quite funny but my signiture is saying no no no to garage!!! I HATE GARAGE! it's all turned into hiphop now and guns
I don't like the music either, technically it isn't like any other rhythm...any technical music people here heard of a "shuffle" or "Swing" ? - garage uses it - hence the 'Jerky' feel/sound and it really makes wretch thinking about a shuffle beat.
and the thing is it's suposed to be like a division of house music with a drum'n'bass/jungle influence but so what! it's not a really cool and new idea to mix genres to make new ones! that's been done for years!
I must admit tho I did borrow this '101% speedgarage' (back in 1997) I liked it for a bit, had alot of ragga vocals and stuff but now it's crap IMO
HAPPYHARDCORE RULES! and Garage I hate!
I think UK garage is crap IMO

you guys are implying all uk garage fans are gangsta's. well maybe they are in the uk.
with that type of stereotyping, then all the people on this board are 15 years old and walk around with soothers and stuffed animals - which one is worse?!
I spin HHC, funky nu skool breaks, and uk garage. Those are the only 3 genres of music worth listening to and anyone who says otherwise is a filthy liar.
